I’m Chantilly, a web designer and creative strategist helping business owners and digital entrepreneurs to create vibrant, visual brands and websites.
But more than that, my passion is helping people to create something all their own, whether that be a business, a blog or launching a digital product. Because I truly believe that there is no better life than working for yourself.
Entrepreneurship isn’t just about making money or a name for yourself, although it can lead you to both. Working for yourself is really about gaining the personal and creative freedom you crave. Entrepreneurs often go against the grain. They resist the 9-5 grind and instead strike out on their own to create something new.
Many believe that going it alone is risky. We’re taught to believe that working for someone else is safe and secure. But many times, the opposite is true. You can have much more success as an online entrepreneur than you’ve ever found in IRL (in real life). That’s been the case for me and so many women who have created digital brands and businesses from scratch. All you need is an idea and the drive to make it happen.
From blogging to product sales to infopreneurship, today, the digital entrepreneur has nearly limitless options. With dedication and the right strategy, there’s nothing you can’t do.
How I got started in web design
The truth is, I stumbled into this web design thing. I started out helping families like ours to build their blogs and ended up pursuing a full-time career online.
With zero experience and less than a shoestring budget, I started my online business. It cost me a whopping $119.25. That bought me 12 full months of web hosting. Just enough time to try this thing out and see if I really had the chops to build a web-based career. It took a lot of research and some serious hustle, but I’m here.
I like to joke that I taught myself web design through Google. And its true. I knew literally nothing about web design or blogging before I started my online journey, but I was determined to have a beautiful website and had zero budget for professional help so I taught myself web design.
