I didn’t always have a vision for my business. When I started, my goal was simply to help people.
The truth is, I stumbled into this web design thing. I started out helping friends to customize their blogs and then they actually started offering to pay me for it.
That’s when I took the leap. I decided to purchase 12 months worth of web hosting to create a home for my blog and business.
It was one of the scariest things I could imagine at the time. What if I was just throwing away $119.25 of my 2010 tax refund? That’s a bill I could pay.
But I made the investment anyway. I took the risk. Because I couldn’t see myself ever leaving behind my current life if I didn’t make some big, risky moves. That investment was the best one I’ve ever made.
I knew literally nothing about web design before I started my online journey. I didn’t know anything about building a brand, creating logos or digital strategy.
But I was determined to have a beautiful website and had zero money for professional help, so I taught myself everything I needed to know, in order to create the brand and website that I envisioned.
That’s how much my vision mattered to me.
I used Google and YouTube as my teachers and whatever I couldn’t do, I figured out a way to do it. It was a long and excruciating process at times…and a lonely one. But I stuck with it, because I knew that there were opportunities online that I was missing out on.
Maybe you’re having the same kinds of thoughts. You feel there’s something you absolutely need in order to move forward in your business, but you’re too terrified to take action.
This happens to most entrepreneurs. But we don’t have to let fear hold us back. When you have a vision for your business. When you’ve put it down on paper. When you know with 100% certainty that this is what you want to do…you shouldn’t let anything stop you. 💖
Best,
Chantilly
