Q: Is this service right for me?
A: If you’re looking for a quick and affordable transition to the Genesis Framework and want professional help, this service is a great fit. This package is also a great fit for individuals who want to move to a new Genesis theme but don’t want to take on the process of setting up the theme themselves.
Q: Is web design included?
A: This is not a full service web design package. Some business owners and bloggers are looking for a simple and affordable move from their current WordPress theme to the Genesis Framework. If this sounds like you, than this service will likely be a good fit.

Q: How long will the setup take?
A: In total, about 2-4 weeks. We’ll start by chatting via email about all of your preferences for the theme setup (layout, widgets, color scheme, fonts, etc.). The planning process may take several days.
Once all of the planning is set, I’ll start work on your site and will setup your theme LIVE on your own domain. We’ll pick a day and time for launch that is best for you (during low traffic hours). The setup process will typically take about 2 hours, barring any WordPress or server issues and any additional requests you might make. During that time, I’ll have a landing page up on your website that can direct visitors to your social media profiles or prompt them to signup for your newsletter while they wait for the big reveal!
Please note: Your website MUST BE currently self-hosted on WordPress. If your website is not self-hosted, additional time and services may be required to complete your project.
Q: What are my theme choices?
A: I highly recommend a mobile responsive HTML 5 Genesis theme. Click the following link to browse through all of the Genesis child themes (click “Shop for themes” to see your options).
Genesis 3rd party themes: If you have already purchased a 3rd party theme from 316 Restored Designs, Shay Bocks, Appfinite, Pretty Darn Cute Design, BluChic or another source, you’ll be asked to provide the .zip file for your theme.
If you’re not sure which theme to choose, I would be happy to make recommendations for you.
Q: Will I need to purchase anything?
A: Yes. With the Genesis Customization package, you will need to purchase the Genesis Framework and the child theme of your choosing. I’ll provide you with everything else you need, including some of my favorite WordPress and Genesis plugins, for free. If you decided to request additional services, I’ll always let you know the cost up front, so you can adjust your budget.
Q: What plugins will you setup for me?
A: I’ll setup all of the essential Genesis plugins recommended for your theme, which may including any of the following:
- Genesis Responsive Slider
- Simple Social Icons
- Genesis Simple Share
- Genesis eNews Extended
- Genesis Simple Edits
I’ll also include any other plugins recommended for your theme by StudioPress or another Genesis theme designer.
Q: What will you need from me?
A: This service is intended for someone that already has a self-hosted WordPress website and wants to get started with Genesis or switch to a new Genesis theme. In order to switch from your old theme to Genesis, I’ll ask you to provide me with the WordPress login credentials for your website and in some cases, I may also require a cPanel login (from your web host) in order to complete the setup process.
Q: What are my payment options?
A: Invoices are sent through FreshBooks. Once you’re ready to get started, I’ll invoice you for the total project fee ($750), which can be paid via PayPal, Stripe or credit card. The balance must be paid in full before work can begin. No refunds will be issued once work has begun.
Q: What if I need extra help?
A: No problem. If you find that there’s something you can’t or don’t want to do yourself, I can provide additional service hours at a rate of $125/hr.
